A previous announcement indicated that a new Tamil web series named Seruppugal Jaakirathai is scheduled to debut on ZEE5. Additionally, the series will be accessible on OTTplay Premium at reduced rates. This action-comedy series is slated for release on March 28.

Seruppugal Jaakirathai OTT release

Recently, ZEE5 announced the launch of a new web series titled Seruppugal Jaakirathai. The first look poster was revealed, showcasing several comedians in prominent roles. Scheduled to debut on March 28, the series is produced by Singaravelan from SS Group and directed by Rajesh Suseiraj.

Promoted as an action-comedy, Seruppugal Jaakirathai features Singampuli, Vivek Rajagopal, Ira Agarwal, and Manohar in significant roles. The storyline follows a diamond smuggler named Rathinam, who conceals one of his valuable diamonds within a shoe. To avoid detection by authorities, he swaps his shoe with that of auditor Thyagarajan, portrayed by Singampuli. This leads to Thyagarajan and his son Ilango misplacing the shoe, setting off a humorous and adventurous search for it. Each episode promises a blend of comedy, unexpected twists, and captivating moments.

Singampuli will take on the principal role, supported by a cast that features Vivek Rajagopal, Ira Agarwal, Manohar, Indrajith, Mapla Ganesh, Usain, Sabitha, Uthumalai Ravi, Palani, Seval Ram, and Dr. Prabhakar.

The technical team is comprised of Gangadharan handling cinematography, LV Muthu Ganesh providing the music, Ezhichur Aravindhan responsible for the writing, Wilcy J. Sathy managing the editing, Tony J. overseeing audiography, S. Satheesh Kumar directing art, Hari Haran in charge of sound design, and M. Ashok Kumar designing the costumes.

What else to watch on ZEE5/ OTTplay Premium?

The streaming service has acquired the post-theatrical rights for the 2025 Tamil film Kudumbasthan, featuring Manikandan in the lead role. This family-oriented comedy revolves around a middle-class man who, while striving to support his family, faces the challenge of losing his job. 

The cast also includes Guru Somasundaram, Saanve Megghana, among others.
