Sanam Teri Kasam Re-release Box Office Day 1 Projections: The phenomenon of re-releasing older films has emerged as a significant advantage for those who struggled to attract audiences during their original screenings but have since cultivated a substantial fan following. Titles such as Laila Majnu and the classic Tumbbad initially faced disappointing box office performances, yet they achieved notable success upon their re-release in 2024. Now, another film aiming to replicate this success is Sanam Teri Kasam, featuring Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane, which premieres today. If the projections are accurate, it is poised to become the highest-grossing Hindi film opener of the week.

Sanam Teri Kasam Re-release Box Office Estimates

Even with the simultaneous release of two new films—Badass Ravi Kumar and Loveyapa—on the same day as Sanam Teri Kasam, the directorial effort by Vinay Sapru and Radhika Rao appears to be in a favourable position. Notably, despite being a re-release, it has already recorded 110.7K tickets sold in bookings.

Current projections suggest that Sanam Teri Kasam may generate approximately Rs 4 crore on its opening day of the re-release. Additionally, the strong booking trends indicate a potentially successful opening weekend. Originally released in 2016, the film garnered a total of Rs 8.03 crore against a budget of Rs 19 crore, which classified it as a commercial failure, with an opening day collection of merely Rs 1.12 crore. Should the re-release meet the anticipated figures, it would represent a significant turnaround for the film.

Harshvardhan Rane on Sanam Teri Kasam Re-release

Harshvardhan Rane shared his thoughts with TOI regarding the film's re-release, stating, "I hope it achieves what it failed to accomplish previously. What emotions should I experience? Many have urged me to bring this film back. The primary memory I have is that we all anticipated a much better performance from the film than it ultimately delivered. This disappointment motivated me to advocate for its re-release. It has been nine years. Each passing year diminishes others' faith, yet mine continues to grow."

He also conveyed his appreciation for the trend of re-releases, remarking, "Even after parents divorce, they sometimes find love again. As a child, I am genuinely pleased with this new union. I support both remarriages and re-releases." Harshvardhan aspires for the film to finally receive the acknowledgement it deserved initially, akin to Tumbbad and Laila Majnu. "If I were adept at making predictions, I would have done so nine years ago. I can only hope that this comes to fruition."
