In an exclusive conversation about the upcoming re-release of his 2016 film Sanam Teri Kasam, producer Deepak Mukut reflected on the film's unexpected resurgence, fueled by its devoted fanbase. Despite struggling to gain significant attention during its initial release, the film is set to return to theatres on February 7, 2025, as a Valentine’s Day special, following overwhelming demand from its supporters.
Expressing his initial disappointment, Mukut said, “I had hoped people would come to watch the film when it was first released in 2016, but it didn’t receive the love we expected. Today, eight years later, seeing fans embrace it so wholeheartedly makes me immensely proud.” He extended his gratitude to fans, stating, “I’m proud of all the films I’ve produced, and I want to assure fans that we will continue creating heartfelt stories. We’re even planning sequels—Sanam Teri Kasam Parts 2, 3, and 4—but your love is essential. Please come to theatres, show your support, and encourage us. A producer gains courage when fans show their appreciation by coming to watch our films.”
Highlighting the nationwide demand, he added, “Fans from different cities have been urging us to re-release the film. We couldn’t ignore their requests. So, as a Valentine’s Day gift, we’re bringing it back on February 7. Whether the re-release is a success is something we’ll find out soon.”
Mukut also shared what drives his passion for filmmaking: “A producer wants to create stories from the heart, and Sanam Teri Kasam is one of the most special films I’ve worked on. It’s a project very close to my heart.”
Looking ahead, Mukut teased the potential for future instalments, confirming, “Harshvardhan is already on board for the sequel. However, Part 2 will only happen if fans genuinely love the first film and support its re-release. If audiences show up at theatres, we’ll move forward with it. If not, we may have to reconsider.”
In closing, Mukut emphasized that the future of the Sanam Teri Kasam franchise depends entirely on fan support. He urged viewers to show their love by watching the film during its re-release on February 7, ensuring its legacy continues.
