Bollywood actor Harshvardhan Rane and Pakistani actress Mawra Hocane starred in the 2016 romantic drama 'Sanam Teri Kasam'. The film did not perform very well at the box office but it received acclaim for its performances, storyline as well as music back in the day. The film is also gearing up for its re-release in theatres this October and with this another good news is now announced by the makers. The romantic musical film is all set for its sequel. Sanam Teri Kasam 2 announced!

The makers of Sanam Teri Kasam have now announced the sequel to the film which will be titled 'Sanam Teri Kasam 2'. The film will bring back Harshvardhan Rane as the lead and the storyline of the film is underway. The makers are yet to finalise the director of the film yet.

Talking about the sequel, Harshvardhan said, “The love and connection that audiences have shown towards the film over the years is truly humbling. I'm thrilled to be a part of the producer of the original film, Deepak Mukuts sir’s world and bringing a story for you all with a sequel. They are creating something that honours the original while taking the journey forward in an exciting new direction”.

As per the reports, Mawra Hocane will not be returning as the female lead of the film. The new actress, who will star opposite Rane is not been announced yet and fans are eagerly waiting for all the other details about the film.

For the uninitiated, the narrative of Sanam Teri Kasam revolved around a tough ex-convict Inder (Harshvardhan Rane), and a librarian Saru (Mawra Hocane). While Rane is fed up with life and is completely destroying himself, he meets Saru, who belongs to s strict and traditional family and is desperately finding a husband for herself. Inder and Saru fall in love after accidently meeting each other but a tragedy changes their life forever.
