Salman Khan's Sikandar Faces Eid Release Challenges Amid Empty Theatres
2 days ago | 5 Views
Salman Khan's Sikandar kicked off with disappointing numbers. The film, which premiered on a Sunday, raked in Rs. 26 crore. Since it didn't even hit the Rs. 30 crore mark, it won't be the top opener of 2025. Sikandar has also failed to surpass the record set by Chhaava, and now it faces several challenges, with the latest news being that some screenings have been canceled.
Here’s all the information we have...
Sikandar is getting canceled because there aren't enough people showing up
It all kicked off on the first night. Salman Khan's film Sikandar saw barely any audience since its debut. A major factor for this was piracy, along with poor planning. The movie launched on a Sunday, which was a risky move for a Salman Khan film. With the negative reviews it received, attendance plummeted even more. The rise in ticket prices also made many potential viewers think twice about spending their money on a Bhaijaan film. Ultimately, the main issue was the lack of strategy. If Sikandar had been released on a Friday like most films, it might have had a better chance at the Box Office instead of facing its current struggles.
Sikandar probably won't reach the Rs 200 crore milestone
Salman Khan was pretty sure that his fans would help Sikandar hit the Rs. 200 crore milestone, but right now, that seems like a bit of a stretch. With Eid being a partial holiday, many people are stuck at work and can’t find the time to catch the movie in theaters. Most fans will have to hold off for a whole week until Friday to see the film, and with how quickly people forget, they might just skip Sikandar and opt for a new release instead.
If you’re one of those waiting until next Friday to see Sikandar in theaters, you can always check out his previous Eid release, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, on OTT. All you need is an OTTplay Premium subscription!
