24 days ago | 5 Views
Salman Khan and Sunny Deol are both adept at performing in action films. They have starred in numerous action movies, with several achieving blockbuster status, including Gadar, Gadar 2, and Dabangg, among others. In a recent interview, director Puneet Issar disclosed that Salman nearly turned down his 2004 action film, Garv: Pride & Honour, and mentioned that the reason for this decision is linked to Sunny Deol.
Salman Khan almost rejected Garv
In a recent discussion on the YouTube channel Digital Commentary, Puneet Issar revealed that Salman Khan initially turned down the role in Garv: Pride & Honour.
Puneet explained, “Salman and I have shared a long-standing friendship and have collaborated as actors for many years. I mentioned to him that I was working on a project. He listened to the storyline of Garv and expressed his appreciation for it, but he questioned, ‘Why have you approached me with this?’ He believed the film aligned more with Sunny Deol's style, as Salman typically did not engage in such genres.”
Puneet Issar wanted to break Salman Khan's lover-boy image in films
Before action films, Salman was well known for his lover boy image in rom-com films and Puneet wanted to break that image. He said that he wanted Salman Khan to play a different kind of character in Garv.
He said, “I told Salman, ‘I want to break your image.’ He liked the film’s script and he agreed to do it. I feel actors are like wild horses, who will only allow those who knows how to ride a horse to sit on it. It was a pleasure working with Salman. Yaaron ka yaar hai woh. He totally surrendered to the role."
Salman Khan's work front

Salman Khan was recently featured in the film Sikandar. Directed by AR Murugadoss, this action movie did not perform well at the box office and garnered mixed reviews from both audiences and critics. In the film, Salman Khan portrays the character Sanjay Rajkot/Sikandar, who, motivated by his wife, takes a stand against corruption and injustice, ultimately becoming a symbol of hope for the marginalized. The narrative follows his evolution from a dispassionate individual to a selfless hero, inspired by his wife's influence. Additionally, Rashmika Mandanna plays a significant role in the film.
