On the other hand, Priyadarshan expressed his enthusiasm for the project, mentioning that he has always appreciated Saif's presence on screen. The director has been eager to collaborate with him for a while now.

Hindi version of Oppam

Oppam, the 2016 Malayalam thriller directed by Priyadarshan, starred Mohanlal as a blind man entangled in a murder investigation, and that's the Hindi remake we've been discussing. Saif will step into Mohanlal's shoes, bringing his unique flair to the character. The story takes an exciting twist as it follows a visually impaired man who becomes the prime suspect in a murder case.

There's buzz that Bobby Deol might be approached to play the villain in the film. An insider revealed that the actor was impressed with the writing, particularly appreciating the script's complex and layered character development that sets the stage for Saif's role.

Filming schedules

Priyadarshan aimed to wrap up filming by September 2024, ensuring a quicker production timeline. The shoot was set to kick off in July 2024, with a planned schedule of 40 days. However, there's a chance that filming could actually start early in 2025.
