When SIT (Special Investigation Team), a Telugu thriller headlined by Aravind Krishna came out in theatres, it did not create ripples at the box office. But subsequently, when it made its way to OTT, the film found favour with audiences, trending on the platform for nearly two months.
The film starring Aravind Krishna and Natasha Doshi in the lead was hailed a must-watch and was available to stream in 5 languages, including Kannada. The Kannada-dubbed version is now getting a new home under a non-exclusive deal and Namma Flix has scooped it right up. As of July 19, SIT is available to stream on the Kannada local platform as well.
The cop drama SIT, directed by Vijay Bhaskar Reddy, revolves around a Special Investigation Team led by ACP Parthsarathi (Aravind Krishna), as he investigates the murder of a billionaire’s wife. While the husband becomes the primary suspect and is arrested, as the cops delve deeper into the victim’s background, some very murky secrets tumble out, forcing the team to look for other options. How they go about solving the case and catching the real killer is what the film is about.
Following the success of SIT on OTT, Vijay announced that he was looking at making it a franchise, with at least two more in the pipleline. In fact, the filmmaker had said that SIT was made for an OTT audience, and that he was glad it got its due when it began streaming.
