Upon its release, Ruslaan received mixed reviews. An excerpt from the OTTplay review read: "Ruslaan suffers because it uses a formula that is used by many others and there is only a certain way it can be redone now without feeling mundane. Aayush Sharma indeed has a lot of potential, but these are not the projects that will bring that out."
Aayush Sharma started his career in the Hindi film industry with the 2018 film Loveyatri, which was backed by his wife's brother-actor Salman Khan's Salman Khan Films (SKF). He also starred alongside the superstar in the film Antim: The Final Truth in 2021. Talking about the same, Aayush had earlier said, "In my earlier two films, I shared the screen with him (Salman Khan). He has seen the film and his blessings are always there with me. With this film, I am stepping out in the real world and working with new people. I hope I make him proud."
