Roopesh Shetty hasn't been in the spotlight for Kannada film fans for a bit. After making waves on Bigg Boss Kannada OTT and later in season 9, one of his earlier movies, Mankubhai Foxy Rani, came out but didn’t really catch on. He then shifted gears to his second Tulu film, Circus, which turned out to be a major success, and he just finished his third project, Jai. In the midst of all this, he also worked on a Kannada film called Adhipatra and is getting ready to make his Tamil film debut with Sannidhanam, where he’ll star alongside Yogi Babu.

Speaking of Adhipatra, it’s set to hit theaters on February 7. In this film, Roopesh plays a cop who’s on the case of a couple of murders that the trailer hints might be linked to a roaming tiger. Who is this tiger? What ties does it have to the murder scenes? And how does it relate to Roopesh's character? These questions are key to the film's storyline, directed by newcomer Chayan Shetty.

Roopesh Shetty enjoys collaborating with fresh directors

Roopesh mentions that he jumped on the project because he was drawn to the story and the passion and vision Chayan brought to the table. He believes newcomers have this intense drive to showcase their talent, something that's often missing in seasoned filmmakers. Roopesh finds that fresh energy from a new filmmaker really thrilling, and he adds that getting the chance to play a cop was just the cherry on top.

The actor-director really enjoys the thrill and excitement of justice being served in a cop film and was eager to dive into that vibe. However, Roopesh points out that his character isn’t your typical over-the-top hero; he’s grounded and relatable.
