Following a high-energy dance performance in Ajay Devgn's Raid 2 and a role in Anees Bazmee's No Entry 2, Tamannaah Bhatia has secured another prominent project for 2025.

Tamannaah Bhatia joins Rohit Shetty's film

As reported by Peeping Moon, Tamannaah has been selected for a significant role in Rohit Shetty's upcoming biographical action film that chronicles the life of Rakesh Maria, the former Commissioner of Police in Mumbai. John Abraham stars in the lead role, while Tamannaah portrays his wife, Preeti Maria, in this authentic drama.

An insider revealed to the entertainment portal that Preeti has been a steadfast support for Rakesh in his battle against terrorism in the city, managing their family affairs and standing by him during some of the most dangerous and challenging moments of his career. Tamannaah expressed her excitement and honor in portraying this role, emphasizing that her participation is vital to his narrative.

This marks the second collaboration between John and Tamannaah Bhatia on screen; she previously appeared as his wife in Vedaa, directed by Nikkhil Advani, last year.

Rohit Shetty's first foray into real-life narratives

Rohit Shetty is primarily recognized for his fictional Cop Universe films, such as Singham, Simmba, and Sooryavanshi. However, his upcoming untitled project, inspired by Maria's memoirs titled Let Me Say It Now, marks a significant shift in his filmmaking approach. This will be Shetty's inaugural venture into a real-life narrative, where he will chronicle the remarkable career of an officer who dedicated 36 years to addressing some of India's most sensitive and high-profile criminal cases. These include the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts, the 2008 crackdown on the Indian Mujahideen, the 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai, and the Sheena Bora murder case.

Filming commenced on Friday in Mumbai and is expected to feature over 40 authentic locations across the city. Prominent sites include the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, Dongri, and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus. Production is projected to conclude by August, with the film set to be released in theaters early next year.

An official announcement from the creators is expected next week.
