This action-comedy received moderate reviews globally; however, its box office results have been disappointing. Despite the initial excitement surrounding its release, the financial performance has not met expectations.

Robinhood latest box office collections

The film featuring Nithiin has concluded its fourth day at the box office, amassing a net total of Rs 9.5 crore globally. These earnings are quite underwhelming, and the film must significantly increase its revenue to reach a secure financial position. On Sunday, Robinhood earned Rs 2.75 crore; however, despite the Eid holiday on Monday, its revenue fell to merely Rs 1 crore. With the holiday weekend now behind, the film is anticipated to face further challenges at the box office.

In contrast, the recently released MAD 2 has been performing remarkably well. Although it has received mixed reviews, the film has successfully captivated a younger audience, grossing over Rs 40 crore and yielding substantial profits for its producers. This notable difference in box office results underscores the unpredictability of audience tastes.

Robinhood experienced several setbacks prior to its eventual debut. The film underwent an extended production period and was delayed on two occasions before it finally reached cinemas. Heightening the excitement, renowned international cricketer David Warner had a prominent role in the film. Nevertheless, these elements did not substantially impact its overall success. On a brighter note, actress Sreeleela, who portrayed the female lead, has garnered praise for her performance.

Venky Kudumula directed Robinhood

The film’s director, Venky Kudumula, previously collaborated with Nithiin for the hit film Bheeshma. Their reunion for Robinhood generated considerable excitement, further fueled by the film’s popular songs and comedic elements. However, despite the initial hype, the movie has not translated that excitement into strong box office numbers.

A notable advantage for the producers is the sale of the film's OTT rights to Zee5 for a considerable sum, which guarantees a degree of financial recuperation.
