Disney + Hotstar is in the news as its two web series, Yakshini and Agnisakshi, have been released in less than a month. Sadly, both the series ended as flops. Yakshini was produced by the makers of Baahubali, Arka Media and had Vedhika and Rahul Vijay in lead roles.

Ritu Varma signs a new web series

When it comes to Agniskashi, popular TV couple Ambati Arjun and Aishwarya played lead roles. As both these series did not click, Hotstar is now gearing up with yet another series and we have some interesting info about the same.

We at OTTplay have come to know that Hotstar has signed none other than popular Telugu actress Ritu Varma for a big-budget web series. Going into details, Kishore B, who last made Sharwanand's Sreekaram, will helm this series for Hotstar.

The project has been locked and will be announced soon, as per the news. Sreekaram is about a software engineer who takes up farming. The social drama ended as a big flop at the box office. Kishore won decent praise for the way he showcased a strong message about today's youth taking up agriculture.

So, we need to see what kind of a subject is Kishore coming up with Ritu Varma. Speaking about Ritu, she is not doing that many films in Telugu and has become choosy. She was last seen in Vishal's Mark Anthony and did not have a single release in 2024.

Her film with Virkam, Dhruva Natchathiram Chapter 1, is yet to hit the screens and has been delayed for the longest time. After a long gap, Ritu Varma has signed a web series, and we need to see what kind of role she will portray in this series. Watch this space for more updates.
