Rifle Club Day 3 Box Office Earnings: Marco Effect and Weekend Surge Benefit Aashiq Abu's Film

The weekend, coinciding with the release of an A-rated film, Unni Mukundan's Marco, has contributed to an increase in box office revenue for Aashiq Abu's recent action-thriller, Rifle Club. The film premiered in theaters on December 19 and received predominantly favorable reviews; however, its initial box office performance over the first three days was only moderate.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the domestic gross on Day 2 experienced a minor decline from Rs 1.15 crore to Rs 1.14 crore. Nevertheless, the ensemble cast film, which features Anurag Kashyap, Hanumankind, and Dileesh Pothan, generated Rs 1.23 crore on Day 3, resulting in a cumulative total of Rs 3.52 crore.
Rifle Club box office numbers to get a boost in Christmas week
The film's box office performance is expected to experience an increase during the Christmas week, with Suraj Venjaramoodu's Extra Decent and Unni Mukundan's Marco serving as its main competitors until the release of Mohanlal's Barroz on December 25.
Although Extra Decent, a dark comedy directed by Aamir Pallikkal, has not gained significant traction, Marco is currently leading the Kerala box office, having amassed over Rs 8 crore in its first two days. This development is unlikely to negatively impact Rifle Club; in fact, it may encourage more viewers to watch the Aashiq Abu film, particularly since the Unni Mukundan-starrer is rated A and features violent scenes, contrasting with the more subdued action of Rifle Club.
Furthermore, with Barroz set to premiere in theaters equipped with 3D technology, the film is not expected to face a reduction in available screens.
Reasons to watch Rifle Club in theatres
The film, penned by Syam Pushkaran, Dileesh Karunakaran, and Suhas, centers on a confrontation involving an arms dealer's gang and members of a rifle club in Wayanad. It unfolds as a home invasion thriller infused with elements reminiscent of Western cinema, featuring a skilled ensemble cast that includes Vani Vishwanath, Darshana Rajendran, Suresh Krishna, and Vishnu Agastya.
Rifle Club, with Aashiq serving as the cinematographer, has a runtime of under two hours and incorporates both humor and action, ensuring that the audience remains engaged throughout its entirety.
