Post the success of the docu-series ‘Angry Young Men’, Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar’s films have once again become the talk of the town. One of their iconic films ‘Sholay’ is now all set to once again release in theatres. The film, co-written by Salim-Javed, will have a special screening in Mumbai on August 31 to celebrate their legacy 50 years later.

Sholay to re-release in theatres

Sholay stars Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Sanjeev Kumar, Hema Malini, Jaya Bachchan, and Amjad Khan in key roles and was a box office blockbuster upon release in 1975. The film will have a special screening in Mumbai on August 31 and the re-release of this legendary film will celebrate the magic of Salim-Javed after 50 years.

However, unlike the other re-releases in theatres, Sholay will have a 'one-time only screening' in Mumbai. The re-release will take place on August 31 from 5.30 pm at Regal Cinema in Mumbai. At the special screening of the film, director Ramesh Sippy as well as the duo Salim-Javed will also be present.

Zoya Akhtar’s Tiger Films announced the good news on their social media handle. They shared a poster featuring the lead cast of the film with the caption: "Celebrate the magic of Salim-Javed 50 years later. One time screening of Sholay in cinemas this Saturday 31st August! (sic)"
