Marry My Husband star Na In-woo is preparing for the debut of his new K-drama, Motel California. In addition to him, the South Korean series features Lee Se-young. The inaugural episode of Motel California is scheduled for release on Friday, January 10, 2025. It will be available at 21:50 KST, which corresponds to 6:20 PM IST, every Friday and Saturday.

Motel California will land on the streaming platform Viki. It has a total of 12 episodes, and if it can be kept on schedule, it will stream until February 15. 

Motel California Plot

Motel California, adapted from Shim Yoon-seo's novel Home, Bitter Home, is a romantic drama series that follows a woman's journey back to her hometown after a twelve-year absence to rekindle her first love. 

In this series, Na In-woo portrays a hopelessly romantic veterinarian. Lee Se-yeong plays Ji Gang-hui, who was raised in a rural motel named Motel California, where her father was employed. Throughout her upbringing, she encountered discrimination in her small town due to her mixed-race heritage. 

During her youth, she developed feelings for her childhood friend, Chun Yeon-soo (Na In-woo), but left for Seoul at the age of twenty to pursue a career in interior design. After twelve years, she returns to her hometown and reestablishes her connection with Yeon-soo, who is now a veterinarian.

Motel California cast

Lee Se-yeong portrays Ji Gang-hui, a determined interior designer who returns to her hometown after a 12-year absence. Na In-woo takes on the role of Chun Yeon-soo, Gang-hui's first love and a veterinarian in the same town. The series also features Choi Min-soo as Ji Chun-pil, Gang-hui’s father. Additionally, the cast includes Kim Tae-hyeong (Gu Won) as Geum Seok-kyeong and Choi Hee-jin as Yoon Nan-woo.

Motel California aims to delve into the themes of human existence and healing, highlighting the ways in which the characters uplift one another despite their flaws.
