Asif Ali is off to an amazing start in 2025 with his film Rekhachithram, which is still doing great in theaters even a week after it hit the screens. He also made headlines recently when a video of him comforting a tearful actress, upset over her scene being cut from the film, went viral. The well-known Malayalam actor assured Sulekha that he would make it up to her, and he definitely delivered by posting the deleted scene on YouTube. Asif Ali has dropped a deleted scene featuring Sulekha from Rekhachithram

Asif Ali hopped on Facebook on Thursday, January 16, to share a clip featuring Sulekha from the movie Rekhachithram.

In this scene, Sulekha's character reveals to Asif Ali's cop that she didn't actually go missing; instead, she ran away with her boyfriend. It looks like the cop is trying to unravel the mystery that's central to the film. The short clip, which lasts about 10 seconds, has been uploaded on Think Music India's YouTube channel.

Asif Ali shared on Facebook, in Malayalam, that "This is the scene of Sulekha chechi that was cut. We promised on the film's release day that we would share it for her, and now we’ve kept that promise."

The YouTube video is getting a lot of love with plenty of likes and comments. Fans are praising Asif Ali and director Jofin T Chacko for their thoughtful act. One commenter noted that even a small scene can bring joy to chechi and her family. Another said, "I’m glad they included this scene. Congrats to Asif!" Someone else added, "Much respect to the whole team."

Rekhachithram's box office performance

In just a week, Rekhachithram has raked in about Rs 33.5 crore globally. On its seventh day, the film pulled in Rs 16.35 crore from the Indian box office. However, Asif Ali's movie might have to deal with some competition since Basil Joseph's Pravinkoodu Shappu hit theaters on January 16, 2025.

Directed by Jofin T Chacko, Rekhachithram also stars Anaswara Rajan in an important role.
