Unni Mukundan’s Marco Hindi sets new record

Following its impactful reception in Kerala, where it captivated audiences with its intense violence, Unni Mukundan’s film Marco is now asserting its presence in Hindi-speaking regions. The dubbed version has secured an impressive distribution, with over 1,327 screens and more than 3,000 showings, a notable achievement for a Malayalam film in major cities like Mumbai and Delhi.

Mumbai – 425, Delhi UP – 325, Rajasthan – 45, and Bihar – 76.

Initially, Mumbai and Delhi had a mere 34 shows, but additional screenings have since been introduced in other states, including Odisha and West Bengal.

Marco premiered in Delhi on December 20, 2024, alongside the original Malayalam version. The lead actor is anticipated to visit the cinemas to observe the audience's reactions firsthand.

The rise in the number of shows and screens has undoubtedly had a positive impact on box office revenues. The Hindi version of Marco alone generated Rs 65 lakh on its 14th day, contributing to an overall collection of Rs 1.8 crore.

Even more remarkable is that the total earnings for Marco in Hindi have reached Rs 4.65 crore, setting a new benchmark for Malayalam cinema. Additionally, the Tamil and Telugu versions of Marco are also enhancing the film's overall financial performance.

With Marco set to debut in Korea, accompanied by an unprecedented number of screens, the producers are optimistic about achieving greater financial success. Currently, Marco is contending with Tovino Thomas’ Identity, which premiered in Kerala theatres on January 2, 2025. However, there have been no significant releases in other languages, allowing Unni Mukundan’s film to have a clear advantage.
