Nawazuddin Siddiqui, one of the finest talents in Indian cinema, often headlines small-budget movies. Even in tight-budget films, Nawazuddin has proved his mettle as an actor. The actor is awaiting the release of his OTT movie, Rautu Ka Raaz, which will premiere on ZEE5 and OTTplay Premium. Ahead of that, the actor shared his thoughts about producers refusing to back small films. Nawazuddin supported Anurag Kashyap, who opined that Payal Kapadia's Grand Prix (for All We Imagine As Light) is entirely her own as India doesn't support independent filmmakers.

In an interview with Mid-Day, Nawazuddin Siddiqui said many filmmakers can do some great work but never get support. "This is a huge irony. Not a single producer backs small films. Our country is running after fake cinema. We show people blowing up ships and planes. Kids should be entertained by this," he said. The actor further wondered why adults enjoy the same.

The Bollywood actor also revealed when small filmmakers seek his support, he does as much as he can for them. Siddiqui added nobody puts money on such films, however, he also believes that if these small films get made, they will get accolades from around the world. "But producers say, ‘Sir, this doesn’t have drama or songs," stated Nawazuddin.
