After debuting as a director with the blockbuster hit URI: The Surgical Strike with Vicky Kaushal, Aditya Dhar is finally all set for his upcoming thriller. With this film, Ranveer Singh is set to embark on a thrilling journey as he teams up with the director. Backed by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, the film has now been officially announced with a stellar cast. 

Ranveer Singh announced Dhurandar

While the makers have not announced the title of the film officially, the film is tentatively titled Dhurandhar. With Ranveer Singh headlining the stellar cast that features Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, and Arjun Rampal. 

Sharing a collage of pictures of all the actors with the director, Ranveer wrote on Instagram: "This one is for my fans, who have been so patient with me, and been clamouring for a turn like this. I love you all, and I promise you, this time, a cinematic experience like never before. With your blessings, we embark on this great, big motion picture adventure with spirited energy and pure intent. This time, it’s personal."

The narrative of the high-octane drama is said to be inspired by the real events from the golden era of Indian intelligence agencies, coinciding with the rise of R&AW. If reports are to be believed, each actor has gone through rigorous look tests to authentically embody the characters of real-life intelligence officers.

Earlier, talking about the film, a source informed Pinkvilla, “Ranveer is thrilled to be venturing into the world of espionage with Aditya Dhar. Sanjay Dutt portrays the antagonist, while Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal will be seen representing the Indian intelligence apparatus.” 

The film is said to be shot on a massive scale with a big budget. The shooting schedule of the film will span for six months promising the high-octane action sequences and plot twists. 

Produced by Jyoti Deshpande from Jio Studios with Lokesh Dhar and Aditya Dhar under their banner B62 Studios, the film is directed by Aditya. Principal shooting for this giant theatrical presentation is now officially underway. It is to be noted that this will be national-award winner Aditya Dhar’s second major motion picture after the record-breaking blockbuster ‘URI-The Surgical Strike’ which was released in the year 2019.
