Set against the backdrop of the politically charged and gritty 1970s and 1980s—often referred to as the golden era of India’s Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW)—Ranveer, known for his intense commitment to his roles, is fully immersed in the project.

Filming for Dhurandhar is nearing its end

According to reliable sources who spoke to Pinkvilla, the production is progressing swiftly, with most of the filming already completed. The team behind Dhurandhar aims to wrap up by July 2025, having finished about 75% of the film. With around six months allocated for post-production, the release is anticipated in the first quarter of 2026. However, if no specific release date is set, the film might hit theaters in the summer of 2026.

Under Ranveer's leadership, Dhurandhar boasts an impressive cast. Alongside him are Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna, Rakesh Bedi, and Sara Arjun, known for their roles in Ponniyin Selvan and Jazbaa. The actors reportedly underwent rigorous training and look tests to authentically portray the intelligence officials of that era. The Indian intelligence community will be depicted by Ranveer, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal, while Sanjay Dutt takes on the role of the formidable villain. There's also buzz that Sara will be playing Ranveer's love interest.
