Aditya Dhar, the director of URI: The Surgical Strike, is preparing to launch his next espionage thriller titled Dhurandhar. Supported by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, the film boasts an impressive cast that includes Ranveer Singh, R Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, and Arjun Rampal. Recent updates regarding the film's production have emerged.

Dhurandhar shoot update

The filming for Dhurandhar has commenced in Andheri, where a large-scale set has been constructed to facilitate action sequences. According to Mid-Day, Ranveer Singh has engaged in rigorous preparation for his role in the film.

A production insider revealed, “The Mumbai schedule is primarily dedicated to filming several high-octane action scenes. The production design team has meticulously recreated the environment necessary for these sequences in a controlled setting in Andheri. Ranveer has been undergoing extensive preparation to ensure he delivers impactful performances over the next two weeks.”

The Mumbai schedule will include scenes featuring Akshaye Khanna alongside Ranveer. The insider further noted, “Other cast members will join the production next week to complete their final days of shooting.” The team anticipates that Dhurandhar will enter post-production by March, aiming for a release in late 2025.

Ranveer Singh announces Dhurandhar

In 2024, Ranveer Singh announced Dhurandhar by sharing a collage of images featuring the cast and director on Instagram, stating: "This one is for my fans, who have been so patient with me, and have been clamoring for a turn like this. I love you all, and I promise you, this time, a cinematic experience like never before. With your blessings, we embark on this great, big motion picture adventure with spirited energy and pure intent. This time, it’s personal."

The storyline of this high-octane drama is anticipated to draw inspiration from real events during the golden era of the Indian Intelligence Service, coinciding with the emergence of the R&AW.

A source previously disclosed to Pinkvilla regarding the film, stating, “Ranveer is excited to explore the realm of espionage alongside Aditya Dhar. Sanjay Dutt will take on the role of the antagonist, while Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal will depict members of the Indian intelligence community.”

The film is produced by Jyoti Deshpande from Jio Studios, in collaboration with Lokesh Dhar and Aditya Dhar under their B62 Studios banner, and is directed by Aditya Dhar.
