As the year approaches its conclusion, Dharma Productions has delighted fans with the announcement of the re-release of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani in January 2025.

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani re-release date announced

One of the most celebrated films in Bollywood, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, is set to return to theaters. On December 27, Dharma Productions took to their official Instagram account to unveil a poster announcing that the film will be back on the big screen starting January 3, 2025.

The post read, "We are all screaming because #YehJawaaniHaiDeewani is re-releasing on 3rd January! Save the date!"

In response to this exciting news, one fan expressed, "Koi jaaye na jaaye mai toh zaroor jaaungi." Another remarked, "My soul movie is coming again!!!" A third fan added, "Bunny and gang is back!"

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani will be released on January 3, 2025, across 140 PVR INOX Cinemas in 46 cities.

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani plot

This coming-of-age romantic comedy-drama narrates the story of Bunny (Ranbir Kapoor) and Naina (Deepika Padukone) and their evolving relationship. The narrative unfolds at two pivotal moments in their lives: immediately after college and again in their late twenties. The film delves into how these two characters impact one another, develop a friendship, and ultimately fall in love.

The cast includes Ranbir Kapoor as Kabir "Bunny" Thapar, Deepika Padukone as Dr. Naina Talwar, Aditya Roy Kapur as Avinash "Avi" Arora, one of Bunny's closest friends, Kalki Koechlin as Aditi "Adi" Mehra, another of Bunny's best friends, and Kunaal Roy Kapur as Taran Khanna, Aditi's husband. The film also features Farooq Sheikh in the role of Bunny's father.

Karan Johar expressed his enthusiasm regarding the re-release of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, emphasizing that the film occupies a cherished position within Dharma Productions. He highlighted the film's exceptional music, breathtaking locations, beloved cast, and a narrative that resonates with audiences of all ages.

"It is the ideal film to usher in the new year. The movie evokes a warm, uplifting sentiment about life. We eagerly anticipate witnessing Gen Z's reactions as they experience it on the big screen as adults, while millennials join in, singing along and reciting the dialogues before the actors," he remarked.

Conversely, director Ayan Mukerji described the film as akin to his second child, embodying a significant part of his heart and soul. Over a decade later, he confidently reflects that the process of creating it was among the most fulfilling experiences of his life.
