Grandeur usually marks the celebration of finishing a major work. But for director Nitesh Tiwari, the conclusion of Ramayana: Part One is just the beginning of the next chapter, not the end of the show. With the first part's post-production nearly wrapped up, he's already gearing up for a highly awaited sequel.

Ranbir Kapoor is set to kick off filming for Ramayana: Part Two in May

According to Mid Day, Ranbir Kapoor, the star of the iconic epic who portrays Lord Ram, is reportedly set to begin shooting for Ramayana: Part Two in the first week of May. Currently busy with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love & War, he will probably need to juggle his schedule between both films.

A source told the tabloid that Ranbir is currently filming Love & War. He might juggle both projects starting next month. The team did a look test to see if he could portray Lord Ram after a significant transformation for the Sanjay Leela Bhansali movie. They reviewed all his outfits, aiming for a darker and more intense vibe to align with the tone of the sequel.

Ranbir Kapoor's visual assessment for consistency

This week, Mumbai's Film City has been busy with thorough look tests as they gear up for the upcoming changes. Producers are making sure that the visuals and themes of the sequel align with the evolving storyline, which is expected to explore deeper and more dramatic elements of the epic.

Filming has already begun on one of the most significant parts of the narrative, the Ashok Vatika chapter, and the production team is preparing for it. For those who may not know, this lush garden in Lanka is where Ravan kept Sita captive after her abduction.

Sai Pallavi is set to film some important emotional scenes

In this segment, Sai Pallavi, known for her roles in Gargi and Love Story, will be shooting the Ashok Vatika scenes as Sita, as revealed by a source from the production team. They also aim to finish filming two songs this season before the monsoon arrives in the city.

The creators are looking to complete Ramayana: Part Two by October, having established a solid foundation and a clear timeline. This highly anticipated sequel is expected to delve deeper into the epic themes of duty, love, and sacrifice, with the goal of exceeding the previous installment in terms of scale, emotional depth, and visual splendor.
