Ramkamal Mukherjee teamed up with Rukmini Maitra for Binodini – Ekti Natir Upakhyan – a feature film based on Nati Binodini. However, there is so far no news about the release of the film. The director is currently in Mumbai. According to a report on Anandabazar Patrika, the director will start a Bengali film soon. This time, the film will not be historical or mythological or a period piece.

According to the reports, Ramkamal will make a film based on middle-class people's lives. He will portray the story of domestic help in the said film, Lakkhikantapur Local. Koushik Ganguly and Rupa Ganguly may act there. Sangita Sinha is the producer and will play an important role. Pramod Films' Pratik Chakraborty may assist her.

Are the two Ganguly's husband and wife? Anandabazar Online contacted Sangita who said, “This can't be said now. It is not yet decided whether they will be in the film. But we want them.” Lakkhikantapur Local tells the stories of many women. Lots of women ride the train and come to Kolkata every morning. They work in many houses here and go back in the evening. This train gives them food and sometimes brings danger as well. Sangita said that the film would tell these stories. How did Sangita meet Ramkamal? She said that she acted in his first Bengali film Rikshawala. She then dreamt that she would make a film with Ramkamal as a director if she ever became a producer. The dream will come true.

The script was written by Subhro Chakraborty one and a half months back. Subhra was involved in Noti Binodini also. Sourendra-Soumyajit will supervise the music department. The director will come to Kolkata next week and the shooting will start in July. Will the shooting take place in a real-life Lakkhikantapur Local? Sangita said that the shooting would take place on the train, in Kolkata, and many other local places.
