Ranbir Kapoor is set to embark on several exciting projects, including Nitesh Tiwari's adaptation of Ramayana, where he will portray the character of Lord Ram. In 2024, an official announcement was made regarding the release dates for both Part 1 and Part 2 of Ramayana. Currently, the first installment of the film is approaching completion. According to recent media reports, Nitesh is in the process of filming Ramayana with Ranbir's body double.

Ranbir Kapoor's body double shoots for Ramayana?

Ranbir Kapoor's body double is engaged in shooting for Ramayana. The actor has completed the majority of his scenes for the film in 2024. His body double is now filming specific sequences for Nitesh Tiwari's direction. A source informed Mid-Day that Ranbir has already finished his pivotal scenes, as he has prior commitments to Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love & War.

"Due to his scheduling with Love & War, the production team of Ramayana organized the shoot to avoid any delays. Currently, a few minor sequences are being filmed with a body double, and once completed, the first part will be wrapped up," the source conveyed to the tabloid.

If the schedule proceeds as anticipated, the second part of Ramayana is expected to commence filming in May 2025. Given that the mythological epic relies heavily on visual effects, significant post-production work is underway. "Nitesh will focus on this aspect in the coming months. The second part is likely to begin production in the summer, with Ranbir anticipated to join by June," the source added.

Namit Malhotra announces Ramayana Part 1 and 2

Namit Malhotra, the producer of Ramayana, has announced that Part 1 is slated for release on Diwali 2026, while Part 2 is expected to premiere on Diwali 2027. The film will feature Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, Yash as Ravana, and Ravi Dubey as Lord Laxman.
