The initial reaction to the first look of Telugu superstar Ram Charan's upcoming film, now confirmed to be titled Peddi, suggests that fans believe it to be the much-needed comeback project for the actor following the disappointing performance of Gamechanger. On Ram Charan's birthday, the team behind RC 16 revealed the title Peddi, which had previously been leaked, along with a first look poster. This poster showcases the actor in a strikingly intense and rugged appearance, complete with scars, disheveled hair and beard, a septum piercing, and lighting a cheroot.

Peddi is Ram Charan's redemption project: netizens

The film, helmed by Buchi Babu Sana, known for Uppena, is said to be quite some time away from its release, currently scheduled for theatrical debut on March 26, 2026. However, the initial glimpse has sparked excitement among netizens, who perceive a theme of redemption throughout. Anticipation surrounds Peddi, with expectations of it being a highly engaging mass film featuring a gripping storyline and strong performances. Although the first look has been likened to a poster from Allu Arjun’s Pushpa, fans remain unfazed and are embracing the 'intense mass appeal.'

Peddi, a social drama presented as a village sports narrative, features Ram Charan alongside Jhanvi Kapoor, who made her Telugu film debut in Devara last year. Produced by Vriddhi Cinemas, the film is set in rural landscapes and boasts music composed by AR Rahman. The supporting cast includes officially announced actors Jagapathi Babu, Shivarajkumar, and Divyenndu. The film is co-presented by Sukumar Writings and Mythri Movie Makers.

Recently, it was announced that Shivarajkumar, known as the Century Star of Kannada cinema, has completed his filming commitments for the project. The scenes, considered crucial to the storyline, were filmed in Hyderabad. "Peddi" is one of the initial projects Shivarajkumar has undertaken following his return from the United States, where he received treatment for bladder cancer. The team behind RC 16 demonstrated remarkable patience, allowing Shivarajkumar the necessary time to recover before he resumed his role in the film.
