Ram, the highly anticipated Mohanlal starrer helmed by Jeethu Joseph, has been put on the back burner for a long time. The movie, which was supposed to mark the celebrated actor-director duo’s second onscreen collaboration, originally started rolling in January 2020. However, the project was delayed indefinitely due to the COVID-19 pandemic, multiple lockdowns, and financial issues. However, Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph are now set to resume the shooting of Ram, very soon.

Mohanlal, Jeethu Joseph to resume Ram

The celebrated actor-director duo, who put Ram on the back burner due to various issues, are finally set to resume the shooting of their ambitious project. As per the recent updates, Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph are planning to start shooting for the pending portions of the film, which is set to release in two parts, by August 2024. The reports are officially confirmed by director Jeethu, at a recently held event. However, the hitmaker refrained from revealing more details on the same. But the Drishyam director confirmed that all the production issues have been solved.

Ram Part 1 to release this year?

Some unconfirmed reports also suggest that Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph are planning to have a theatrical release for their ambitious film, this year itself. According to the grapevine, all major portions of Ram Part 1 have been finished. Director Jeethu and his team have also completed the post-production works of the already filmed portions. The pending portions of the first installment are expected to be wrapped up by mid-2024. In that case, the Mohanlal can easily have a grand theatrical release by the last quarter of this year.

As you may know, the celebrated actor-director teamed up for the first time in 2013, for the iconic crime drama film, Drishyam. Later they reunited for Ram, which is touted to be a realistic action thriller. After the project was delayed indefinitely, Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph teamed up for Drishyam 2, the much-loved sequel to Drishyam, the crime drama 12th Man, and blockbuster courtroom drama Neru which was released in December 2023.
