Aditya Roy Kapur made an impressive OTT debut with The Night Manager on Disney+ Hotstsar last year. Following its success, the actor is now gearing up for his second project in the web space. As per media reports, Aditya will be seen alongside Samantha Ruth Prabhu in Raj and DK's show, which is tentatively titled Rakht Brahmand. Joining the duo in this series is actress Wamiqa Gabbi. And now, fresh details about this series have surfaced online.
Aditya Roy Kapur, Samantha's show to be a period fantasy series?
According to a PeepingMoon report, Aditya Roy Kapur, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, and Wamiqa Gabbi's web project is likely to be a period fantasy series. While Raj and DK (of The Family Man franchise) will serve as producers, filmmaker Rahi Anil Barve has been assigned directorial duties.
The report further suggests Rahi created a mysterious and fantasy world for Rakht Brahmand. "Aditya, Samantha, and Wamiqa were immediately taken aback by the concept and visualization and are excited to venture into entirely uncharted professional territory with this show. It’s a passion project that Rahi has been developing since before Tumbbad came out," a source told the entertainment portal.
Having said that, Rahi had initially planned this project as a feature film. However, it was adapted into a web show reportedly because of extensive material that couldn't fit in the film format. The source added that audiences can expect an exhilarating ride that may transport them into a world full of love, sacrifice, deceit, and more.
When and where will Rakht Brahmand release?
For the uninitiated, Rakht Brahmand has been in the pre-production phase for the past six months. It is expected to go on floors in August 2024. Once the shoot is completed, the series, featuring Aditya, Samantha, and Wamiqa, will have its global premiere on Netflix in late 2025.
