It was recently reported that Rajkummar Rao and his wife Patralekhaa are venturing into production. The latest development is that their first production venture is expected to go on floors soon. Rajkummar is expected to be a part of the Vivek Daschaudhary directorial with Sanya Malhotra. The actors worked together on Hit: The First Case, released in 2022. Cut to now, Rajkummar and Sanya are likely to commence the shoot on December 2.

Rajkummar Rao and Sanya Malhotra's on-screen reunion

According to a Mid-Day report, the Rajkummar Rao and Sanya Malhotra-starrer will also feature Seema Pahwa and Abhishek Banerjee. Filmmaker Vikas Daschaudhary will likely start a two-month schedule in Mumbai that will continue until January 2025.

"The shoot will kick off on December 2, with the director filming the introductory scenes of Rajkummar and Sanya’s characters. Last week, the lead pair did a look test with stylist Sheetal Sharma, who is designing the look for the film’s characters. The movie will be shot on sets in and around Mumbai," a source told the tabloid.

The source further mentioned that Mumbai forms an important part of the Netflix film. The story reportedly revolves around a Mumbai-based couple and other loving characters. "The dark comedy focuses on the hard life in Mumbai. Rajkummar liked how Vivek had offered a quirky and cool take on the story," the source mentioned.

Rajkummar Rao's films in 2024

On the work front, Rajkummar had four theatrical releases in 2024. The Bollywood actor's first theatrical release of the year was Srikanth, in which he played the lead role. It was followed by Mr. & Mrs. Mahi's release. Later, the actor starred in Amar Kaushik's Stree 2 with Shraddha Kapoor. The horror comedy film became a blockbuster hit. 

After Stree 2, Rajkummar's movie Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video with Triptii Dimri hit the silver screen. And now, the actor reportedly has an exciting project Maalik coming up soon.
