This eagerly awaited movie is set to compete with Ayan Mukherji's War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, on August 14, just before Independence Day. Fans have expressed their excitement and curiosity about whether this will lead to another showdown like Salaar vs. Dunki, pondering, "Who will emerge victorious?"

Coolie to clash with War 2

The Coolie team announced its release on Friday evening, stating, “Sound-ah yethu! Deva Varraaru #Coolie worldwide from August 14th.” This announcement followed a teaser from producers Sun Pictures the previous day. The newly released monochrome poster features Rajinikanth whistling, with blood on his forehead and his hair in disarray. Fans were ecstatic to finally receive a release date for one of Tamil cinema's most anticipated films.

Fans pick sides already

The simultaneous release of War 2 did not go unnoticed, prompting fans to take sides, with some supporting Coolie and others favoring War 2. Nevertheless, there was a consensus that the release of both films on the same day would lead to a significant clash. One user on X (formerly Twitter) asked, “Can we declare this THE BIGGEST CLASH OF THE DECADE?” while another remarked, “#Coolie declares War on #War2.” Some fans even created memes referencing WWE, dubbing it the ‘biggest battle.’

About Coolie and War 2

Coolie boasts a star-studded cast alongside Rajinikanth, including Nagarjuna, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan, Reba Monica John, Junior MGR, and Monisha Blessy, with Aamir Khan rumored to make a cameo. The film, featuring music by Anirudh Ravichander, will not be part of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU), which includes Kaithi, Vikram, and Leo. War 2, the sixth installment in the YRF spy universe, will also mark Jr NTR’s Bollywood debut, with Kiara Advani joining the cast in this sequel to the 2019 film War.
