It has been reported that Raj Chakraborty would debut in Hindi language with a web series based on his film, Parineeta. The shooting of the series started in Kolkata at Howrah’s famous Fulghat. Along with Raj, Parambrata Chatterjee, who will be seen as ‘Bubaida’ of Panineeta, and Aditi Pohankar were seen at the shooting. Aditi will be playing Subhashree’s character, Mehul Bose.
Parineeta, a film about love and revenge, was a cult through which Raj Chakraborty rediscovered himself in 2019. Now, he wants to carry the story to the national level. Aditi was last seen in the Hindi series Aashram. On Sunday morning, Aditi, Raj, and director Aniruddha Roychoudhury hung out in a club in South Kolkata.
Before the shooting started, there was a slight drizzle. Raj sat under the garden umbrella and looked at the monitor. After some time, Parambrata came. He drank tea from a clay pot and looked at the monitor. In the Bengali film, Gaurav Chakraborty played the villain. Bollywood actor Sumeet Vyas will play the role in the series. Sumeet is known for Bollywood films like English Vinglish, Parched, and Veere Di Wedding. Bollywood actor Priyanshu Painyuli, known for films like Rock On 2 and Pippa and the series Mirzapur 2, will play the boy having a secret crush on Mehul.
On the first day of shooting, Aditi wore a floral-printed gray kameez and white salwar. Parambrata Chatterjee was in a white shirt and denim pants.
Raj officially announced the series on social media on the day of Rath Yatra. Gairik Sarkar is the DoP and Paramita Ghosh, famous for LSD 2, will edit the series. There have been many changes in the story and screenplay. A Marathi writer wrote the story. The series, like the film, is set in the backdrop of North Kolkata. Some parts will be shot in the suburbs also. The film in 2019 ended with the revenge of Babaida’s death. It is yet to be seen how Raj pans out the series.
