Raayan, the gangster action drama headlined by actor Dhanush, is now available for streaming on Prime Video. The film, written and directed by Dhanush, is produced by Sun Pictures banner.

Dhanush, who made his directorial debut with romantic drama Pa Paandi, made his second film Raayan, a gritty action-packed gangster drama. Raayan released in theatres on July 26. Following its theatrical run for nearly a month, the film is now available for streaming on Prime Video.
Raayan is set in the suburbs of north Chennai, and revolves around three brothers and their little sister. As they run a food truck, one of the brothers get embroiled in a scuffle leading him to kill the local gangster’s son. This causes a chain of events that lead to the brothers getting pulled into a world of violence and deceit.
Dhanush plays the titular character, along with a cast that comprises of Dushara Vijayan, Sundeep Kishan, Kalidas Jayaram, SJ Suryah, Prakash Raj, Aparna Balamurali, Selvaraghavan, Saravanan, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and others. Raayan is backed by Kalanithi Maran under the banner Sun Pictures.

It is to be noted that Raayan marks Dhanush’s 50th film as lead actor. Raayan has music by AR Rahman, which was well received upon its release. In fact, Rahman’s music was one of the major talking points of the film upon its release. The film is shot by cinematographer Om Prakash with Prasanna GK handling the edits.
The film opened to mixed to positive responses. “Dhanush, in his second directorial, brilliantly mounts a world true to the genre and even achieves emotional connect, which soon gets discarded,” reads OTTplay review of the film.
Meanwhile, after Raayan, Dhanush is working with filmmaker Arun Matheswaran for a biopic on veteran composer Ilaiyaraaja. The actor also has Telugu film Kubera, with filmmaker Sekhar Kammula. In the meantime, Dhanush is also working on his third directorial titled Nilavu Enmel Enadu Kobam.
