Raayan, the recently released Dhanush-starrer film, has received positive response from audiences and critics. The film marks Dhanush’s 50thfilm as lead actor and second directorial after Pa Paandi. While it’s been a few weeks since the film hit theatres, Raayan is now gearing up for release on OTT platform.

Raayan OTT release date

Raayan is a gangster action drama which released in July. The film stars Dhanush in the lead role, who also doubled up as director of the film. Dhanush starred in the lead role, along with a cast comprising of Dushara Vijayan, Kalidas Jayaram, Sundeep Kishan, Aparna Balamurali, Selvaraghavan, SJ Suryah, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Prakash Raj, and others.

Now, as per latest reports, after its theatrical run, Raayan is expected to premiere on Prime Video on August 30. However, an official announcement on the same is yet to be made by the streaming platform. In addition to this, it is also safe to assume that Raayan will be made available on SunNXT as well, since the film is backed by its parent company Sun Pictures.

Raayan is set in the suburbs of north Chennai and revolves around three brothers who run an eatery and live with their sister. However, after one of them invites trouble by killing a gangster’s son, it sets the ball rolling for a chain of events that chase the siblings.

Raayan has music by AR Rahman, which was well received upon its release. In fact, Rahman’s music was one of the major talking points of the film upon its release. The film opened to mixed to positive responses. It has emerged as the biggest weekend opener in the career of the actor-filmmaker. Reportedly, Raayan has crossed the Rs. 70 crore mark at the worldwide box office, within its first weekend at the theatres. The film is shot by cinematographer Om Prakash with Prasanna GK handling the edits.
