R Madhavan impressed audiences in 2024 with his portrayal of the antagonist in Ajay Devgn's Shaitaan, which also starred Jyothika and Janki Bodiwala. Following the positive response, a sequel is in the works. Now, Madhavan is preparing for the release of his first film of 2025, Hisaab Barabar, which centres around a massive banking scam. The film also features Neil Nitin Mukesh, Kirti Kulhari, and Rashami Desai in key roles. While promoting the movie, Madhavan recently discussed handling box office pressure and shared two of the most horrifying moments of his career.

R Madhavan recalls horrifying moments of his career

In a recent interview with SCREEN, the RHTDM actor shared that he feels a sense of horror on the first day of a film's release or its publicity. When asked if he finds OTT platforms liberating due to the absence of box office pressure, he responded, "Thank God for that." He admitted that as the release date of his films approaches, he gets increasingly nervous. He added, "In fact, the two most horrifying moments of my career are the first day of shooting—it's becoming progressively harder—and the first day of publicity and release because everyone is watching, and I feel like they’re thinking, ‘Nope, you’ve lost it; that’s it, game over.’"

R Madhavan on his 25 years of career

In the same interview, he reflected on his 25-year career in the industry. Expressing gratitude for being able to play lead roles, Madhavan shared, "Surviving for 25 years in an industry where people become obsolete in just 25 months isn't easy. To still be playing lead roles is something I’m truly grateful for. It’s the encouragement from others that keeps me going; otherwise, I would have been a lost soul by now."

Where to watch Hisaab Barabar?

Hisaab Barabar, directed by Ashwani Dhir, is set to release on January 24, 2025, on ZEE5. It will also be available for streaming with an OTTPlay Premium subscription. The thriller drama will be offered in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
