Kesari: Chapter 2 Teaser Out

Recently, it was announced that the biopic of C. Sankaran Nair has been rebranded as Kesari: Chapter 2 – The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh. This update has been confirmed by the creators through the release of a teaser. The teaser, which lasts 1 minute and 39 seconds, offers a preview of the film's content.

The footage introduces the historical context, depicting the tragic events of the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre—an incident that resulted in numerous fatalities and significantly impacted India's history. The teaser poignantly illustrates the horrific crime, highlighting how the wounded and deceased were left unattended in Jallianwala Bagh for 12 hours, allowing vultures to scavenge.

The scene then shifts to a courtroom, where Akshay Kumar portrays C. Sankaran Nair, who is seen challenging the British authorities. At one moment, he is reminded that he and all Indians are "slaves" to the British, to which he defiantly replies, “F*ck you.” However, the teaser does not showcase the first appearances of Ananya Panday and R. Madhavan, leaving viewers to anticipate their reveal.

Prior to the announcement of Kesari: Chapter 2, Karan Johar shared his deep pride in the film, stating: "The director dedicated himself entirely to this project, persevering through pandemic-related delays and other unexpected challenges. I am inspired by the cast and crew who have consistently supported the film with their dedication and passion.

"While commercial success is unpredictable, I can sincerely say that this film stands as one of Dharma’s proudest achievements. I express this both as a filmmaker and as a member of the audience. I hope that viewers will be touched by the fervor that the team has invested in this film. See you at the movies."

Starring Akshay Kumar, R. Madhavan, and Ananya Panday, Kesari: Chapter 2 is set to hit the big screen on April 18, 2025. Stay tuned to OTTplay for more updates on this and everything else from the world of streaming and films.
