Even as excitement mounts for the release of Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule on December 5, reports claim that the threequel has been confirmed and even has got a title. This piece of news has taken the internet by storm, and just when it looked like nothing could beat this - it was claimed that none other than Vijay Deverakonda could play the antagonist in Allu Arjun and Sukumar’s film. Vijay Deverakonda to play the villain in Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 3?

News got out that Pushpa 3 is very much on the cards after Oscar-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty shared a picture of himself along with his team on his X handle to announce that the sound mixing of Pushpa 2 has been completed. And right behind him was a poster with the title Puspha 3: The Rampage.

Resul Pookutty deleted the post soon after, but not before it caught the attention of the cinephiles. The picture was celebrated by Pushpa fans and went viral in no time.

This title was in fact earlier shared by Vijay Deverakonda while whishing Pushpa director Sukumar on his birthday. The post from 2022, reads “Happy Birthday @aryasukku sir - I wish you the best of health & happiness! Cannot wait to start the film with you :) love and hugs. 2021 - The Rise. 2022 - The Rule. 2023 - The Rampage.”

Vijay fans are absolutely delighted to note that the young star had given away the title two years ago, leading to speculations about his role in the threequel with some even claiming that he could play the villain in the Allu Arjun-starrer.

Pushpa 2 release date

Pushpa 2, which also features Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil in key roles, is set to hit the theatres on December 5 worldwide. After Pushpa 2, director Sukumar has a film with Ram Charan and it is being reported that he will work on Pushpa 3 only after that. 

Sukumar also has a film with Vijay Deverakonda, though more details about the project are not known.
