The makers of Pushpa 2, an upcoming Telugu movie, released a character poster of Fahadh Faasil along with their best wishes on his birthday today (August 8). The actor's character, Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat IPS, is depicted in the poster returning in the upcoming sequel, which is scheduled to premiere in theatres on December 6.
The Aavesham star is seen sporting a tough ensemble in a dhoti and khaki jacket, with minimal changes in appearance from the film's prequel. But it does clearly allude to the sense of fear that surrounds this police officer in the Allu Arjun-starrer.
All about Pushpa 2
Allu Arjun's career was altered by the 2021 film Pushpa, for which he also won a National Award. For those who don't know, the movie's first act concluded on a cliffhanger with Allu Arjun and Fahadh Faasil in a confrontation that was praised by viewers. Despite having less screen time, they had also praised Fahadh's performance in a negative role in Pushpa. Now, Pushpa 2 will centre on the tension between the two characters.
Rashmika Mandanna plays a significant role in the movie as well. Sunil, Anasuya Bharadwaj, and Ajay Ghosh will appear in supporting cast. According to the update, Pushpa 2 will be dubbed in new languages in addition to Hindi and south Indian languages. Although Amazon Prime Video paid Rs 30 crore for the OTT rights to Pushpa, Netflix recently announced that it has acquired the post-theatrical digital rights to the film.
Fahadh Faasil’s films in 2024
The young actor's most recent movie, Aavesham, shot to fame when it was released in theatres and digital platforms. The National Award-winning actor and actor-filmmaker Althaf Salim are also collaborating on the upcoming Onam release, Odum Kuthira Chadum Kuthira. The film is anticipated to be a light-hearted romantic comedy. Additionally, Fahadh has an extended cameo in Bougainvillaea, directed by Amal Neerad.
