Five years after Sanjhbati, producer Atanu Roychaudhuri once again teamed up with director duo Leena Gangopadhyay and Saibal Banerjee for his upcoming project. While there has not been any confirmation yet, there is a possibility that Prosenjit Chatterjee and Paoli Dam will be seen as the lead. 

The details of the new project

This will be Leena-Saibal’s first film after Sanjhbati and their second association with Atanu. The 2019 family drama has Soumitra Chatterjee, Lily Chakravarty, Dev, and Paoli in the lead. The new film is billed as a relationship drama. The script is being penned by Leena. While Saibal has been busy with their Mumbai setup, the film will be directed jointly as usual, a source disclosed. The scriptwriting is still on. Besides, the talks are on over the castings and other details. 

Paoli has been in Leena’s both films, Maati and Sanjbati. There is a fair chance that the actress will be a part of their new venture. Prosenjit might also be a part of the film. However, there has not been any confirmation yet from the producer. 

Atanu’s association with Dev

Atanu has a successful association with Avijit Sen and Dev. After Tonic, Projapati, and Pradhan, their fourth film Pratiksha will start soon in November. Besides Dev, Bangladeshi actress Tasnia Farin was initially signed to be in the film. However, because of the current unrest in Bangladesh, the actress was denied a visa and hence the film will see a new face. The heroine is now yet to be locked.

Leena and Saibal have been busy setting up their production establishment in Mumbai. Their serial Jhanak is currently running. On September 16, two more serials, Durga and Iss Ishq Ka Rab Rakha will go on air on Colors and Star Plus.
