There were whispers that the movie might be delayed, but other reports quickly shot that down, saying it’s still on schedule and that Farhan Akhtar is actively involved. Now, there’s a new rumor that Akhtar is planning to bring back Priyanka Chopra Jonas to the original cast.

On top of that, Don 3 features Ranveer Singh and Kiara Advani in the lead roles, with Sobhita Dhulipala in a role that’s still under wraps. A recent report from Hindustan Times suggests that Priyanka Chopra Jonas, the "second OG Jungli Billi" of the franchise, might also be making an appearance. While it’s unclear what role she would take on, if this turns out to be true, fans who were not thrilled about Kiara’s casting might just change their minds about the film.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas made her debut in the Don series back in 2006, playing the character Roma, also known as Jungli Billi, opposite Shah Rukh Khan's lead role. Her performance was a hit with audiences. She returned to the role in Don 2 in 2011, and since then, fans have been hoping for a third installment with the original cast. Although Shah Rukh Khan has handed over the reins to Ranveer Singh, there’s still a chance that fans' hopes could be fulfilled in some way.

Farhan Akhtar talks about stepping in for Shah Rukh Khan

Recently, Farhan Akhtar chatted with News18 about the idea of swapping Shah Rukh Khan for Ranveer Singh in Don 3. He mentioned, “When I initially thought about making Don 3, my mind was on writing it for Shah Rukh. But we just couldn’t find the right direction for the story. We didn’t see eye to eye on it, so that plan fell through. I took a step back to rethink the film and dive into what made Don special—that’s when the writing process kicked off. It evolved into something unique, and I realized I needed a younger actor. Ranveer felt like the perfect fit for the role.”
