Priyanka Chopra was originally a part of Varun Dhawan-Samantha's Citadel Honey Bunny too, here's what changed

Citadel India, now known as Citadel: Honey Bunny, is a story which emerged from Richard Madden-Priyanka Chopra's original show, Citadel (backed by Russo Brothers). Raj and DK's Citadel: Honey Bunny will follow the story from the Italian version of the show, Citadel: Diana. However, there is a link to Priyanka's character, Nadia. Although the actress was going to be a part of Honey Bunny with Varun Dhawan and Samantha, the end script will not have her. Raj and DK reveal in an interview what happened that things changed...
Priyanka Chopra Jonas was originally in Raj and DK's Citadel: Honey Bunny
Raj and DK revealed to FilmiBeat that Priyanka was supposed to be a part of Citadel: Honey Bunny featuring Varun Dhawan and Samantha in the lead roles. Interestingly, Varun and Samantha play Priyanka's character Nadia's parents. Thus, it would only be obvious that PeeCee be a part of the project, but she's not in the final cut of the series.
Why is Priyanka Chopra not a part of Citadel: Honey Bunny?
The directors mentioned that Priyanka was in one of the three drafts for the series and she was a part of the series in the earlier drafts. There, we would have witnessed an interesting parallel story. However, the same could not be shot because of COVID-19 restrictions. Priyanka's segment was supposed to be shot in Europe but that was not possible because travel was forbidden during the lockdown. Eventually, they had to look at another draft without Nadia directly involved in the story.
About Citadel: Honey Bunny
Citadel: Honey Bunny stars Kay Kay Menon and Saqib Saleem apart from Varun Dhawan and Samantha. Varun and Samantha play a couple who co-incidentally join a spy agency (while Varun's Bunny plays a stuntman, Samantha originally plays an actor). They are also Nadia (Priyanka Chopra)'s parents. The series, helmed by The Family Man creators Raj and DK, will be out on Amazon Prime Video from November 7.
