Premalu is a smash hit in Malayalam. Seeing the craze for the romantic drama, Rajamouli's son, SS Karthikeya, bought the Telugu dubbing rights to the film and released it on a grand note in Telugu states. The film made a share of Rs 14 crore in its full run and ended as a massive blockbuster.

Aha bagged the OTT rights to the film for a massive price and started streaming Premalu on April 12, 2024. Ever since the film started streaming on Aha, it has been trending to the number one position in the top ten list of Aha.

The special aspect is that Premalu has been trending on top for the second week in a row. This is a new record on Aha as now non-Telugu films have managed to trend for such a long time on Aha to date. Today, the film is in second place as yet another Telugu film, My Dear Donga, has taken over Premalu.

One of the sources close to the platform has also informed that thanks to Premalu's success on Aha, the Telugu platform has seen a massive increase in subscriptions as well. The news is also that Premalu has crossed 60 million viewing minutes already and is in no mood to slow down.

The sudden popularity of Mamitha Baiju is also one of the reasons the film did so well in Telugu states and now on Aha. Within no time, she has become a sensation of sorts and is being flooded with offers in Telugu cinema. Premalu is a romantic comedy directed by Naslen and set in Hyderabad. This was also one of the reasons the film was watched heavily by the A-center audience.

SS Karthikeya made a lot of money with the Telugu version, and everyone involved with the film saw massive profits. We need to see how long Premalu will trend on Aha. The makers of Premalu have now announced Premalu 2 a few days ago and this has given Premalu more push on OTT. Watch this space for more updates.
