Due to the severe rains that are currently plaguing the state and the landslides in Wayanad that claimed several lives on July 30, Malayalam films that were scheduled to debut in theatres on August 2 have been postponed. The films Footage (starring Manju Warrier), Adios Amigo (starring Asif Ali and Suraj Venjaramoodu), and Chithini (starring Vinay Forrt) were scheduled to premiere this Friday, August 2. As per the most recent reports, these films are now slated to be released on August 15 in theatres. Nevertheless, there has been no confirmation from the makers on this.

Other Malayalam releases on August 15

The Anand Menen-directed film Vaazha is scheduled to open in theatres on August 15. Several sources claim that Basil Joseph has a significant part in this film. The script for Vaazha was written by Vipin Das, the director of Guruvayoorambala Nadayil. Social media stars Saafboi, Amith, Anuraj OB, Anu, Mohan Rajeswari, and Joemon Jyothir are among the main cast members of Vaazha. The teaser disclosed that the movie revolves around a bunch of clueless youngsters.

On August 15, Manorathangal, a Malayalam anthology film, will debut digitally on ZEE5. The project will be accessible in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi, and Malayalam. In addition, the movie, which stars Mohanlal, Mammootty, Fahadh Faasil, Biju Menon, and Asif Ali, will be available to OTTplay Premium subscribers. The anthology is based on the popular writings of acclaimed author M T Vasudevan Nair.

Malayalam films to have a theatrical release in August

August has several interesting Malayalam films that are slated for theatre release, in contrast to July. In August, Girish AD's film I Am Kathalan will be screened in theatres. But the makers are yet to reveal the precise release date. Manichitrathazhu, the psychological horror thriller, will be back in theatres on August 17. On August 22, Vineeth Sreenivasan's film Oru Jaathi Jathakam will be screened in theatres. On August 23, Mr. & Mrs. Bachelor, featuring Indrajith Sukumaran, and Meera Jasmine-starrer Paalum Pazhavum, will open in theatres.
