'Ponman', a newly released Malayalam film for 2025 featuring actor-filmmaker Basil Joseph, Lijomol Jose, and others, is scheduled to begin streaming on JioHotstar starting March 14. In addition to Malayalam, the film will be accessible in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Telugu, accompanied by English subtitles.

Basil Joseph, known for his string of successful performances, recently appeared in the 2025 Malayalam dark comedy film titled Ponman. The film premiered in theatres in January and is set to make its debut on OTT platforms shortly thereafter. JioHotstar has acquired the streaming rights and will offer the film in its original language, along with Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu versions.

In addition to Basil, the cast includes notable actors such as Sajin Gopu, Lijomol Jose, Anand Manmadhan, and Deepak Parambol in key roles. The film is adapted from the novel Naalanchu Cheruppakar, authored by GR Indugopan. Jothish Shankar, who has previously worked as an art director on family dramas like Kumbalangi Nights and Android Kunjappan Version 5.25, makes his directorial debut with Ponman.

The narrative unfolds in Kollam, centring on a gold dealer named PP Ajesh, who provides gold jewellery for the wedding of Bruno's sister, Steffi. Following a commitment to return the jewellery, the agreement is not honoured, prompting Ajesh to confront Steffi's husband to reclaim the gold. The film was met with a favourable response upon its release.
