He also made a memorable cameo as the Joker in The Batman, and fans have been eagerly awaiting an official announcement regarding his portrayal of the Clown Prince of Crime.

Tom Harper, known for directing Heart of Stone and helming the first few episodes of Season 1 of Peaky Blinders, has been tapped as the director for the movie. The script will be penned by series creator Steven Knight. Caryn Mandabach, Knight, Murphy, and Guy Heeley will serve as producers, alongside executive producers Harper, David Kosse, Jamie Glazebrook, Andrew Warren, and David Mason. The film will be produced in association with BBC Film.
