Pazhanchan Pranayam on Saina Play
The family drama that made its theatrical premiere on November 24 of last year received positive reviews despite not drawing a large crowd to the theatres because of its themes and the cast's nuanced performances. The film centres on Mohan, a middle-aged single man who endures persistent rejection due to his perceived old-fashioned style. When Maya, a carer, moves into his home to take care of his father, his path takes an unexpected turn. The movie then turns into a poignant story about a relationship that blossoms while defying social norms and expectations.
Being light-hearted and exploring the finer points of social norms, Pazhanjan Pranayam is directed by debutant Bineesh Kalarikkal. The film skilfully raises issues with the social norms that often dictate people's decisions about their personal relationships. In this film, Azees Nedumangad also has a significant role.
