Pati Patni Aur Woh impressed fans in 2019 with its comedic spin on the love triangle featuring Kartik Aaryan, Ananya Panday, and Bhumi Pednekar. Recently, director Mudassar Aziz hinted about the sequel with a promising narrative revolving around a female perspective. He confirmed that the sequel is currently in the making and also shared some insights about Pati Patni Aur Woh 2. Read on to get a full scoop on the second installment.

Pati Patni Aur Woh sequel

Mudassar Aziz’s 2019 box office hit Pati Patni Aur Woh is currently gearing up for its sequel. The seasoned directly recently opened up about the narrative for the second installment of the romantic comedy and how it will be a captivating watch with more laughs.

“I will provide a very interesting perspective from a woman’s standpoint and a lot of laughs. Since I am setting out to take that on as the next installment of the idea of Man, Woman, and Her all over again, I can promise it will not be run of the mill,” he shared in an interview with Indian Express.

Pati Patni Aur Woh 2 to reunite the lead trio?

The Happy Bhag Jayegi director is renowned for his witty narratives and stellar ensemble casts. Although Aziz confirmed that the sequel is currently in the making with other things being finalised at the moment, he kept the star cast for the second part under wraps. Without revealing if the trio of Pati Patni Aur Woh will be reunited on the screens for its magic, the director further revealed that he enjoys making sequels but not necessarily a franchise, and the official decision will be taken by the producers or production house. 

Notably, even the sequel Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi retained the original cast members and thus hints at the possible reunion of the Pati Patni Aur Woh cast, including Kartik Aaryan with the two female leads Ananya Panday, and Bhumi Pednekar.

Several reports previously suggested that Kartik has given his nod for his return to the Pati Patni Aur Woh sequel and even lauded the script. For the unversed, Pati Patni Aur Woh was a remake of the 1978 film of the same name.

Meanwhile, Kartik Aaryan has an interesting lineup of films, as he will next be seen in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Tu Aashiqui Hai. Kartik garnered acclaim for his role as Murlikant Petkar in the recent sports biopic Chandu Champion, where he underwent a major transformation to essay the challenging role.
