4 days ago | 5 Views
Veteran director Rakesh Roshan has been at the helm of the Krrish franchise, but he’s ready to hand over the reins for the fourth installment. With his son Hrithik Roshan leading the cast, the series has consistently performed well at the box office with each sequel. So, who will take over the directing duties next? In a chat with Bollywood Hungama, Rakesh Roshan mentioned that the time has come for him to "pass on the baton."
Rakesh's thoughts on Krrish 4
Rakesh hinted at the upcoming sequel without disclosing who the new director will be, saying, "There will come a time when I need to hand over the reins. It’s best to do it while I’m still clear-headed, so I can keep an eye on the process and make sure everything’s on track. If I have to pass it on when I’m not fully aware, I won’t know what’s being created."
He also mentioned that he’s not upset about not directing Krrish 4, stating, "We have to take that leap. Plus, there’s no guarantee that if I direct Krrish 4, it’ll be a hit. It could turn out the opposite, too."
Here's the scoop on the franchise
Rakesh kicked off the franchise with the sci-fi flick Koi Mil Gaya back in 2003. He then transformed it into a superhero series with Krrish in 2006, and followed that up with Krrish 3 in 2013. All these movies featured Hrithik Roshan in the lead role, with Priyanka Chopra joining him in the last two.
While there hasn't been any official word on Krrish 4 yet, there are rumors that the script is ready. In the meantime, Hrithik is busy filming War 2. He recently hurt his knee while shooting a dance scene for the movie, which is being directed by Ayan Mukerji. War 2 also includes stars like NTR Jr and Kiara Advani.
