Joju George, the renowned Malayalam actor, has made his directorial debut with the film Pani, a revenge thriller that has now been released on OTT platforms. Although the film was initially scheduled to premiere on Sony LIV on January 16, it was made available a day earlier, on the evening of January 15.

Pani is currently accessible for streaming on Sony LIV in multiple languages, including Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi. This film represents the first Malayalam release on the platform, which had previously showcased Bougainvillea, featuring Fahadh Faasil, Jyothirmayi, and Kunchacko Boban, in December. Additionally, Pani can also be streamed on OTTplay Premium.

The film is a revenge thriller that centres on two young mechanics from Thrissur, portrayed by Sagar Surya and Junaiz VP, who embark on a mission to assassinate a man in order to establish their reputation in the criminal underworld. Following their initial assignment, they encounter Giri, whose family dominates the city through their gang activities. After suffering humiliation at his hands, the young pair takes the affront personally and retaliates against his family. The narrative raises the question of how Giri will exact his revenge on the audacious youths and the potential consequences of their actions.

This film is a gripping revenge thriller that unfolds at a brisk pace, ensuring that viewers remain captivated, even on streaming platforms. Joju George delivers a powerful performance as Giri, complemented by outstanding portrayals from Sagar and Junaiz.

The film features a supporting cast that includes Abhinaya, Bobby Kurian, Chandini Sreedharan, and Sujith Sankar, each of whom effectively fulfills their respective roles in this ongoing cat-and-mouse narrative involving criminals. In terms of commercial performance, the movie performed reasonably well at the box office, generating approximately Rs 33 crore according to industry analysts at Sacnilk.
