Following his beloved role as Ambaan in the Fahadh Faasil film Aavesham, Sajin Gopu takes on the character of Suku in Painkili. Convinced that his friend's death resulted from his actions, Suku voluntarily commits himself to a mental asylum. Anaswara Rajan, who garnered acclaim for her performance in the successful film Rekhachithram, portrays Shiba, a character eager to seize any chance to escape. The narrative unfolds with comedic outcomes as their lives intersect.

Joining this entertaining and eccentric film are Jisma Vimal, Roshan Shanavas, Abu Salim, and Chandu Salimkumar. Renowned director Lijo Jose Pellissery also appears as Thanku, while Sreejith Babu directs the project. The most recent Malayalam film to debut on Manorama Max is Oru Jaathi Jathakam, featuring Vineeth Sreenivasan in the principal role.
